THREE WAYS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH BOOKS

Updated: Oct 18, 2023

Many of us can all agree that books are good for us. They teach us, shape us, inform us, entertain us. But sometimes, reading can be difficult. It can be difficult to take the time to prioritize reading.

Here are three tips to help you fall in love with books and begin a consistent habit of reading!

First, visit a bookshop. Be it Bookshop on the Avenue or some other option, we highly encourage you to explore collections of books in real life. There is something special and sentimental about paper copy books — they really are quite magical. So join in on the fun and visit the Bookshop on the Avenue today! You can interact with the books hands-on which is such a special, personalized experience that can help you become more interested and excited to read.

Next, you will want to make sure you are looking at the right kind of book. Take an inventory of your interests and passions and attempt to best match up what it is you like with a book genre. Once you have found your desired genre, you can then compare different books to see what it is you like the best. If you try a genre and find that you aren’t particularly enjoying it, change nooks and try something different. There is a book out there meant for you. Everyone deserves to feel like they have found the book just right for them, so don’t stop until you do!

Finally, it may sound simple but the last step is to just keep reading! The more you read, the more of a habit you will build. It will become a part of your daily life! If you keep searching for literature and seeking it out, you will find yourself in it, and you will truly fall in love with reading. Start with setting a goal for the week of how much you want to read. Don’t view it as a task, but delight in reading. You will find so much enjoyment then!

Reading will change your life! We hope these three steps help encourage you to build a strong relationship with literature, allowing you to fall in love with books!
